Sarah Noni is a Canadian singer songwriter whose adventurous and life-inspired storytelling seeks beauty and truth and sparks the soul. Sarah, like her influences Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone and Leonard Cohen, is poetic and eclectic and grooves with the warm soulfulness of your favourite vinyls. 

 

Sarah has released two albums on Harry Manx’s Dogmycatrecords out of Vancouver, touring extensively in Canada and the US, performing primarily in an acoustic and poetic style. Her sophomore album, titled “Daybreak Mourning”, earned her a nomination for Best Songwriter from the Canadian folk music awards in 2006 and won Best Solo Artist in the Canadian folk music awards. Sarah’s 3rd full length featured renowned bass player and producer Maury Lafoy. 

 

A showcase at Berlin’s Popkomm festival in Germany led to tours and recordings, and what was meant to be a temporary visit turned into a 5 year stay. During this time, Sarah performed many festivals, toured, and furthered her musical study in composition in Messina, Italy. She also spent a stint in Paris, composing the score and soundtrack for a feature length film with Romanian Director Joe Savu. Eventually arriving back in Berlin, she recorded scores for several Canadian documentaries, wrote many songs and performed constantly. 

In 2014 she returned to Canada and is currently living on the west coast, where she continues to be an expansive and explorative creator. Over the last few years some time was spent writing and recording with her eclectic alt pop duo, Sky Parallel. During 2020 lockdown she recorded a Charming children's album with her 3 young children, called Your Invisible Wings. Sarah also continues to score music for film and media for various projects, as well as recording and releasing songs under her own name.  She is currently gearing up for a new EP to be released this spring, titled TENFOLD.
